I have a G3 800MHz iMac running OSX that I was planning on using for my FTP in the aforementioned posts. OSX has Apache web server built in. It should be operational within a couple of weeks (I just moved and am having some issues with the internet.)
I am a total rookie with Apache, so any advice will be appreciated.
Thanks Chad, now I can finally get rid of all the other crappy ftp freeware that I've tried using for thehundredthmeridian.com. Finally, I stick with SmartFTP for all my ftp'ing needs!
hipkid33 wrote:I too had the same issue with SmartFTP. All you need to do is go into TOOLS-->
SETTINGS
In the left pane select TRANSFER
In the top section of the right pane where it says "Directory Listing Options", make sure only "Show all files (-a)" and "Recursive (-R)" are checked. All others should be unchecked. I hope this helps. It took me a long time to figure out what was going on!
O.k. so maybe it's me but I have finally been able to get into thm.com but I can't figure out how to download? I have tried to bring up the downloads file and nothing happens. I have also tried the passive mode thing, and that dosn't work. Is it me doing something wrong here or maybe is it the site?
What FTP are you using? I was using Smart FTP and had the same problem you did, but someone told me to switch to Ace FTP and everything worked fine. download at www.aceftp.com if you don't have it.
