a long time ago in a galaxy far far away there was a Jedi Master of the force we call the hip. Every so often he would grant gifts to us that dug the force too. He would test our knowledge about all things hip and to the winner the spoils. A show of choice from his mighty list.

I miss the good ole days.
For the next month or so I will ask a hip related question once per week. The first two people to post the correct answer in this thread can pick a show from my list, dvds and all and I will mail it to you. :thumb:
I will pm the winners my list. My way of sayin sorry for bringin ya all down around here.

Question 1
Name the song that is believed to be where the line "I was born in the water / And raised in the sky" originated.

Have at it!

I'll Make Love to You Anytime...I think...If memory serves...I've read too much hip info over the years to be sure... I know it's a cover...but I'm pretty sure Gord changed up the lyrics, yes?

i am pretty sure jenna is right.

I'll Make Love To You Anytime

by J. J. Cale

Well I can't read and I can't write
And I don't know my left from right.

I can't tell if the sun's gonna shine
And I don't know if you'll ever be mine,
But I'll make love to you any old time at all.

I can't swim and I can't fly,
I ain't no fish, ain't a bird in the sky.

Chorus

I can't count from one to ten,
And I don't know the shape I'm in.

Chorus

We have two winners!!

I believe it was changed in good ole Montreal 04/11/90. Gord changed the line from JJ Cale's "I'll Make Love To You Anytime"
"I ain't no fish / I ain't no bird in the sky" to what we all know and love
"I was born in the water / And raised in the sky"

Look for new question next week :thumb:

I'd have to go with everyone else and say Saskatoon. (Here's hoping my extreme Newbie status will pay off......)

Time for the next question.
Here is a three parter. To the winners two shows a piece. First two to post correct answer in this thread win.

What is the name of the following piece of literature?
When was it first recorded as a rant?
During what song was it recorded?

Japanese kid
somewhere in America
mistakes the night
October 30th
wrong house
rings doorbell
trick the treat?
trick on treat?
His last thoughts
were of his
bad grammer
and his choice of
esoteric costume:
a mortal husk.
