Hey all,
I'm stuck, I'm trying to get a show from my minidisc to computer but need some software suggestions. I'm going from the headphone jack on the minidisc to the line in on the computer but then what do i do? Would it be better to go from my line out on the minidisc to the line in on the computer? How do I get my computer to recognize my minidisc when it is plugged in? Also is there any free software out there that I could download to do this? I know there is some awesome rippers on the forum so any help would be grately appreciated.

I don't own a minidisc but I'm guessing you should probably use the line out instead of the headphone jack. Download SoundForge, Acoustica, Cool Edit, etc. to rip the music. Press record within the program once you press play on your minidisc; I believe your computer doesn't need to recognize the minidisc for it to work - the data is transferred automatically and free for you to record in WAV format.

As what bauer said! Use the LINE out on the MD Recorder, to your LINE in on the back of your computer.....
And personaly i have been using Acoustica for years, and have liked it, but it all depends what you find easy to use. Others do use Cool Edit Pro!
goodluck
