Disc 1 is up, Disc 2 to follow shortly.
The Tragically Hip

The full show is put together from 2 VHS sources. Many thanks to Dana for allowing me to transfer both tapes
to DVD, and to share then on thehiptracker.

Neither tape contained the complete show, so the Soundcheck, Set 1 and Set 2 are from the first source, with the
Encore added from the second source.

Is this an Audience video or a pro-shot? Either way, thanks! :thumb:

Audience.

Soundcheck is on a tripod - single camera about 20 rows back on the floor.
Concert is on a tripod - single camera about 3 rows back on the floor.

I think on Disc 2, they let the taper up to the stage (between the stage & the barrier). The 2nd source (used for the encore is about 10 rows back on the floor. I think both sources for the 2nd set are hand-held.

Son of a....... :nooooo

After I burned the 2nd disc, I removed all the files off the Mac to free up space....argh.

I'll have to see what I can do at this point (my Mac is in for repairs at the moment, so I'll have a better sense of how to fix this by next weekend..........)

Sorry all.

So does that mean there actually was no audio with disc 2?

It appears not. It's weird, as I didn't do anything different compared to the countless dvds I've transferred before. The sound was in iMovie while I was editing, so something must have happened after it was transferred to iDVD for authoring.

I've got rips of the audio from both vhs versions, and I've got dvds made from each individual source, so if I can't figure out how to re-add the audio to the video, I should be able to recreate the whole dvd from the individual dvds I made a while back.

Regardless, I can't do anything until I get the Mac back.

Sorry again.

I'd like to get my hands on this one.

if I recall , it was absolutely freezing that night

We donated canned goods to one of the Buffalo radio stations and got wrist bracelets to get into

the "work zone"

I literally leaned my arms on the stage in front of Gord D. the whole show

Any chance this footage has been synced with the killer audio boot that's made the rounds since shortly after the show? I've not seen the footage or heard the audio that comes with it, but I gotta figure the audio boot that's been circulating for years now is of far superior quality to what a typical camcorder can capture.

I'd volunteer to do it myself, but I don't really have the time anymore. But I have done it before, with pretty good success. 08.07.2002 came to me in the form of a great DVD that had subpar audio, then awhile later Markslog's great recording came to me, and I synced them up.
