This will probably seem like a stupid question, but it's been over a year since I used FTP's, and I've never used hundredthmeridian.com before. ANyway, I'm logged into that server, and I thought I remembered a bunch of folders coming up when you connect to an FTP. All I see is an icon telling me I'm connected. I've been randomly clicking and right-clicking on everything, and I can't make the folders come up. How bout a little refresher...please?

I had the same problem with hundredthmeridian.com too. I had been using SmartFTP, but for some reason it wouldn't show any folders on that site, though it worked great everywhere else. I tried using AceFTP and it worked perfectly. Try some new software, that may help!

Double check that your FTP software is in PASSIVE mode, sometimes referred to as PSV. If it is, then try some new software as Hairbird suggested.

Hairbird, I was using SmartFTP...thanks for the info! I'll go get Ace now. The software is indeed in PSV mode, and if you've had the same trouble I did, I guess it must just be an incompatibility issue with SmartFTP. Too bad, because I liked that program :(

Yeah, I like SmartFTP too. I still use it for every other FTP site I go onto. I've even used AceFTP to get onto hundredthmeridian, checked out which folder(s) I wanted to download, and then used the exact path name to set up a global queue on SmartFTP. That way I can download things in sequence over night, and have the program disconnect once its done. Strangely enough, that works. SmartFTP can communicate fine with hundredthmeridian, it just won't display the files/folders for some reason.

Thanks for that, Hairbird. It's good to know I'm not just too simple-minded to make the technology work  I'm going to try the locating-the-folder-path thing you described. If I can't quite figure it out I might be back...but wish me luck!

How odd...as I was typing this very message 10 minutes ago, our power went out and I lost it. It's brilliantly sunny and 30 degrees.so I can't imagine why we lost power...we don't have an energy crisis or anything!
