I recently purchased a new MP3 player and have been going through many old CD's I haven't listened to in a couple of years. I came across a great live version of Meridian in the process. I can safely assume it was a Chicago show, as Gord makes a couple of Chicago references in the rant. Maybe some of these bits from the rant will help. Gord talks about John Wesley Powell, exploring. He also mentions someone getting their arm bit off by a Ski-Doo. I think it might be from the PP tour. I'd like to get the full show because the quality is good. Any ideas?

Martyrs? Would that be it? It has an excellent "Grace, too" that leads off if I recall (doesn't seem to be in my iTunes, though I thought i had it). Something about a "kerfuffle" at the front of the stage too, I think, "for all you people out in radioland. Nothing to see here, we'll just continue on with the show"

that's my bet

Is that when the fans got so rowdy in the front rows that they knocked down the barricade and Gord was asking people to relax so no one got hurt?

I think that show you're referring to is the Grape Jam show, August 8th, 1998, where the snow fence came down. Read some reviews here:

Thanks for the info. I'll start hunting for it. Was that show an FM broadcast possibly? The quality of the recording makes me think it could have been.

If it is Grape Jam - no it was not an FM recording - just a rather good audience one.
