That's exactly how I found this site. I went to thehip.com originally to look through their swag and such. I admit, the boxed set totally renewed my love for the Hip- I don't have their last two CDs yet *waits for gasps from the crowd*- but I'll pick them up soonest.

I remember walking through some store and the boxed set caught my eye, and as I looked it over I was impressed with everything it had for the price- and the fact that the Hip came out with a boxed set at all!

Yeah, I've been out of the loop for a while, it seems.

Im surprised that this board was so hard to find. There has to be a ton of Hip fans that have no place to go. Im not a big fan of thehip.com. Kinda of basic with no board, they should at least link this board to thiers
also there is NO mention of Strippers Union over there. I had no idea until I came here.

Once again, thanks Chris and whoever else helps with this board. Finally a place I can talk about my fav band

I just want to follow up on my first post- I am now the proud owner of In Violet Light, and an official card carrying member of The Hip Club, albeit three years after the fact. :D

I didn't pick up IBE becasue they didn't have it in stock. Oh, the horror!

Out of curiosity. how did you hear about the Hipbase? Many people who have been Hip fans for years come to this board and say they can't believe they didn't know it was here.

At any rate, this is a great place for a new Hip fan. Once you've digested Hipeponymous, I'd suggest picking up Road Apples and Phantom Power. I think they are two of their better albums - the first with a very bluesy feel, from 1991, and the second (considered by many on this forum to be their best album) from 1998 - a more refined sound.

Hi all, finally stumbled across this site. Finally a board for the best Canadian rock band. Rockin out from Halifax if anyone was wondering. I currently goto Dalhousie, for the computer science degree. Fav Hip song: Poets
