Hi all,

First off, an apology to those I have bumped off the server the past few weeks...

I have been doing more and more work from home, and I could just not get stuff done efficiently with 0 bandwidth. So, I had to shut the server down numerous times the past month.

So, I am going to set the server on a timer that will allow connections Monday - Friday 12AM - 5PM, closed Saturday and Sunday.

Sorry to have to do this, but connecting to work is painfully slow when users are connected and downloading.

Also, I will be moving (hopefully) sometime in June. I plan to get the server up and running as soon as I can, but I won't know how long I'll be without Road Runner.

I'll reply to this post when the server will be going down for the move - and again when it goes back online.

Hope you are still enjoying the site.

Talk to you later,

Jerremy

Hey Jer, you do what you need to do man. I'm sure I speak for everyone when I say thanks for providing your server, bandwidth, and all those Hip shows for free. I know the community all contribute to make it an invaluable resource, but there still needs to be someone hosting that ftp site so we can share it all.

Thanks for the heads up.

I just signed up for the Bell Business internet package at work. It comes with a static IP. Additionally, we just got a new 300Gb SAN... so I now have a static IP and lots of storage space. I think that I'll get a small FTP server running. Hosting specific shows each month.

If there was a way to do it, and it not bankrupt me, I'd get the business internet connection at home and run it full time. ($89.95 CDN/month.)

But whatever the case Jerremy, we appreciate all that you've done for the community of Hip fans!

Hi again all,

It looks like the time has finally come... I should be closing on my house next week. So, in preparation, we have started packing and boxing things up.

So - the site will be down until further notice.

When I know a firm closing date, I'll schedule the cable company to come in and get me hooked up - and I'll try to get the server back up asap.

I'm guessing I'll be offline for 3-4 weeks starting from today.

Thanks all for the kind words in the thread - but as highlander said - it's been the contributions of all the users that make it a big HD full of cool Hip stuff.

Some stats from the server (Since the crash last year):

Logins: 176,103
Downloaded Files: 50,866
MBs Downloaded: 624,231

Hopefully I'll be back up in a few weeks.

Take it easy,

Jerremy

Hi all,

Wow - I just looked at the date of my last post in this thread... 6/5. On that day, we thought we were only days away from closing on our house.

Now it's almost 2 months later, and we are finally in.

This evening, I set the server back up, and all should be running like it was before. Please let me know if you have any connection issues (besides all slots full of course).

If you have some time, please upload any new shows or content you may have collected while the server has been offline.

thehundredthmeridian.com

hip/hip for download

upload/upload to upload

It should be up 24/7 for now. When I get back full swing into work, I may have to limit the up time now again to be able to work from home.

Thanks, and enjoy.
