I need some help using Nero 6 Ultra Edition. I'm trying to burn the Portland dvd and have no clue how to do it. I've tried using the help feature and searching the net for some help on how to do it.
Can anyone lend a hand as to the steps of burning the dvd so I can watch it on my dvd player?
Thanks a lot.

You basically want to burn the file as an image. When you start 'smartStart', click on 'copy and backup' -> 'burn image'. You get a pop-up screen to select a file. Choose 'cancel' and you'll see the screen asking what file you wish to burn. Select DVD-Video files. Select Add, and drag and drop the VIDEO_TS folder from the Portland folder (or any VIDEO_TS folder to wish to burn) onto the red VIDEO_TS folder in the right content pane. From here, choose next, choose your burn speed & voila.

Is that the only proper way to burn these DVD's with Nero? I have been opening start smart in Nero Vision Express2 (not the platinum version) and choosing the "make your own dvd-video." Eveything works when I burn it except for the menus. When I put it into my DVD player, I can't "select" anything from the menu - it looks like Nero just burns it as a chapter instead.
I have looked everywhere and I couldn't find any answers on how to fix this. Can anyone help me out with this?

I might not be correct here, but I think Nero Vision Express 2 is more for DVD authoring (making the menus, creating chapters etc.) as opposed to the regular Nero which is strictly burning.o78 wrote:Is that the only proper way to burn these DVD's with Nero? I have just recently started using Nero 6 Ultra. The way I have used that program is to convert the Video TS file into a burnable form using the "RECODE" function. After the Video TS file has been recoded it can be burned using Nero.

when you load the StartSmart wizard with nero, you have to make sure you are on advanced mode. you need to click one of the icons at the bottom of the wizard screen.
you then choose photo & video > burn DVD-video files
when that loads, click the video_ts folder on the left side of the screen (the folder icon is red). you then drag all the files that you downloaded via BT. if you look at the dir that you downloaded, there is a TS_video folder there. just drag those contents to the video_ts folder on the left side.
then click burn
and voila

Cool....thanks for all the info
I was obviously way off course here.... I did it the proper way and it was much easier. That "smartstart" is pure shit in my opinion - totally misleading.
But the dvd menu still didn't work for me after I burned it the 'proper' way. No biggie - I can still watch the concert and that is all the really matters!
