dont get me wrong here.....Chris obviously does a great service for the fans and from what i hear the work he puts out is A++. I dont speak for anyone else about the desire for the dvd's and the appreciation for them as well. Chris' work is obviously much appreciated around these parts. I couldnt care less though cause i dont download them.

I'm going to take a minute here & get back to the original point of this thread......I've just watched about half of the Toronto DVD, and Chris, you've really out-done yourself with this one....My wife came home as I was watching it and asked, "what's this?". When I told her this was last Friday's concert we went to, she couldn't believe it.

Thank you so much for filming/distributing this DVD...great memories are quickly returning (we hit the bar before the show, add a couple more at the ACC & a very generous person sitting behind me and, well things get a little foggy :)

You've done a great job as usual...this will keep me going until the official version is (hopefully) released!

You've made countless references to it and im sure people want to get their hands on it and are very impatient. Just make the damn thing and put it out when its done. There is no need to advertise its arrival if you are sick of hearing questions about it. And by the way, im gonna send my tapes out to someone who isnt gonna bitch about stupid shit.
Mike, I'm sorry that you feel that way, and consider my responses to public inquiries as "bitching about stupid shit". As well, letting me, and everyone else know that you aren't sending your tapes to me doesn't bother me one bit. You discussed it with me 5 months ago, and said you were sending them right out. I still haven't seen them, nor have I publicly called you on it. Now I can cross it off my list of things that fans are sending me to work on. Thank you.

But maybe you are right; I shouldn't mention that I have something wonderful in the works. I assume that everyone lives by my standards, and that's unfair. It's clear to me that there are a number of Hipbaser's who don't deal well with having to wait for free stuff, or understand my sarcasm, or realize that I have a life outside of being a fan. So Mike, I will take your advice and not share my thoughts or plans until they are complete. (This is not sarcasm.)

That's all I can say. Reading this thread, I can honestly say that I don't think I'm going to videotape the Sydney and Halifax shows. I was excited about doing a 2 or 3 DVD set and making it a "HipTrip by the fans for the fans" thing complete with fan interviews, photo galleries, and maybe a word or two from a couple band members after the show, and getting Chris to make it all up real nice for everyone at the Hipbase and beyond. Chris is the best, and he replied immediately when I PM'd him about this potential project. I have no doubt that he would have it ready in good time, but I would not be at all disappointed or surprised if he didn't. I can only imagine how much time it takes to do something like a DVD from raw footage, let alone have his own life.
So.... if there's no Sydney/Halifax footage for a DVD, with which to bother Chris about when it's going to be ready, then perhaps all the better for all of us...

Or am I wrong?

Please send me your tapes; I'll gladly convert them as per out original discussion. They will be a great addition to the Hip community.

I put a lot of effort into it, and I want other fans to share in the great experiences that I've had at shows. If you can't download them, there are/were a number of people here that will gladly do B&Ps so that you can enjoy the shows with everyone else.

I had to laugh when I read this srb...I got the exact same response from my wife when I had it on earlier tonight, except in our case this was the concert we couldn't go to last Friday night...making it that much sweeter...

To Chris...fear not man, your work is GREATLY APPRECIATED by what I would hazard to guess is the overwhelming majority of fans here, silent or otherwise...:thumb:...

As an aside, any thought of submitting your work to the band for inclusion on the "Official DVD", should it come to pass? As evidenced by the number of people pulling this show down, there's obviously a market for footage shot "From the fans' point of view", and yours is top-notch...just a thought...

Cheers,

Chris, I just finsihed watching the show! You're amazing.

They should hire you on to film all the shows... it'd make YOUR day, AND ours 'cause we'd get awesome copies of every show :)
