Hi all,
My recent post last week mentioned that the 100th had just turned 2, and that I was looking for some info on how everyone was connecting to the server, apps, settings, etc.
Well, I have just invested in some new FTP Server software and placed it online... So please email / post here if you have any issues with connecting, uploading or downloading.
The new software has some features many of you have asked about over the past 2 years, resume up/downloads, an upload only account, etc.
So, here is some of the new stuff:
To Download Shows (5 slots):
ftp.thehundredthmeridian.com
username: hip
password: hip
- All shows, vids, pics, etc. are in the DOWNLOADS folder.
To Upload Shows (5 slots):
ftp.thehundredthmeridian.com
username: upload
password: upload
- Please upload files into the UPLOADS folder. This account will ONLY allow uploads. You will not be able to download anything or see the DOWNLOADS folder. This is for uploads only.
New features:
• Resume Upload
• Resume Download
• 'Always Open' upload account
• 'Hammering' Limit. If you try to connect too many times in a 60 second span, your IP will be banned for 60 minutes. (please don't hammer the server!)
• Detailed stats - I'll be able to post up download figures for most downloaded show, etc.
• Admin email notification of new Uploads (so I can label and move to the DOWNLOADS folder)
• (Hopefully) Better speed and reliability
Please let me know if you have any issues - I want to make sure everyone can get in... and fix any problems that may come up with the new software... I already see a few people d/ling shows - so it looks like users can get in OK.
Also, please pass it around that uploads now has it's own account, username and password - thanks.
Enjoy!
Jerremy

...Already having a few problems...
Server seems to lock itself up after a few hours of up-time.
Please be patient as I work though these growing pains. I'll update this thread with any news.
Looks like some quick fixes - so hopefully there will not be much downtime.

I'll just put this up at the top... there.
Lance, ya should sticky this or something...
---------------------------------
Cue The Pointless Drivel;
"Serenity from chaos; the subway, seemingly effortless. The city with its traffic, noise, trains, engines, noise, jackhammers, radios, people and noise, yes, the city in the back of my head since birth. Desmond Morris came in handy. I sat for miles of subway and hours of Sundays watching human behaviour. We wear our secrets on our faces."

Hey everyone...
It's down.
We had a power failure and it totally hosed the server.
All the data is fine, but something happened to the startup disk.
So, I've been trying to fix it, and I finally decided to wipe it and start over.
It should be back up in the next few days...

Hi all,
Well, the server has been resurrected...
Please give the FTP site and the webpage a try.
Post up your experiences - good and bad. Should be as it was before the dreaded power failure.
I hope it's all OK now... Sorry for the long downtime.
Same login as before for both accounts.

Hi all,
Well, the site is back up, but as expected, I have had a few problems. A few lockups/freezes the past few days. After working on it a while this morning, I think it's doing OK now.
Thanks for your patience.
I wish the wife would finally hit the lottery so I can purchase an Xserve with many TBs of storage and I'd get the biggest broadband feed into the house as possible. Hehehhe... But for now we are stuck with an old PowerMac held together by being wedged in between the wall and my filing cabinet and fed to the net with my home Road Runner internet.
Anyway - hope you are all getting in OK.
HipFan39,
Thanks for taking the time to upload your shows.
Talk to you later,
Jerremy
