I hate to sound like a broken record, but one big reason that tapers keep tapes to themselves is that people are impatient/demanding.
A standard rule in the 'bootlegging' world is to wait at least 2 weeks before asking for a show. This gives the taper time to have a listen to the recording, edit it, live a little bit, etc.
I know that these requests are made with good intentions, but that's not always the case.
Even though I had posted a thread dedicated to updating fans to the status of my Wasaga DVD, I was still receiving more than 3 requests via email or PM per day for the show.
Despite your best intentions, all it does is slow me down.
