hello there, after searching for copies of a few shows on dvd, all i've been able to come up with is some helpful folks from the US. my question is, is there anyone in Canada who has the ability to burn a few shows for me on dvd? I'm looking for Edgefest, the Skydome show, Woodstock and any of the recent 2004 shows if they are available yet. I'd prefer B+P in Canada, because trying to offer return postage from the US is a nightmare up here, and offering 2 for 1's can be expensive for each dvd, so if there is anyone in Canada who can provide these shows to a burnerless soul, please reply.

thanks,

First off, do not get greedy, or over anxious. As a taper, and regular trader, it is not our job to help other fans out with shows. It takes more effort to trade/B&P with folks outside of Canada, but it can be done. I have had great success dealing with Canadians, Americans and even Europeans!

Secondly, there are plenty of sources for DVD's here on this website. Search for DVD and read the posts. See who posts a lot, and talks about DVD's they have.

Thirdly, just because you have seen a video on the internet of a show, does not mean it is a DVD. The video from The SkyDome that is available is just a streaming video capture; not suitable for a DVD.

Finally, if you have the means to acquire a burner, there are a number of online sites that you can download DVD's from. Sharing The Groove is my personal favourite.

Chris,

All apologies my friend, this post wasn't meant to be an attack on anyone, anything or anybody. I appreciate everything that a taper does for the rest of the fans. Most people who film/record a show, probably don't get to enjoy the show as much as everyone else there because they are concerned about their equipment and hoping they get a clean copy. For that reason alone, I am grateful, and tip my hat to those who take the time to spread the music. All I was asking for was someone, living in Canada who has these shows available for B+P. I don't think I was getting greedy, just trying to find out who's got the shows locally. I NEVER ONCE mentioned that it was anyone's job to help others out. Secondly, fine, I will take your advice and search for dvds on this site, sorry to bother you. Thirdly, I have seen folks who have the Skydome show on dvd (regardless of the quality), and was just wondering if anyone locally had it, not assuming everything is on dvd. Thanks again! Finally, my initial post mentions that I am burnerless, so I can't download shows from STG. Thanks.

I didn't take it as an attack. I just thought that since I can help you out, I'd also take the opportunity to "educate" you a little bit. :thumb:

It doesn't bother me, but there are many tapers/traders out there who would take offence to your post; so I thought I would save you the hassle.

The downloaded file is less than 200mb. Why bother putting it on a DVD? VCD if you must, but the quality is crap compared to DV. And if you've "seen" people who have it on DVD, ask one of them for a copy.

And my post says, "if you have the means to acquire a burner".
