I'd be happy to contribute funds as well.

Just wondering, is this still eventually going to happen?

It's doubtful that this will ever go public as hoped. I don't have the time or interest to do it anymore. My love of all things Hip is gone. I'm still a fan but gone is my drive to do things to support and spread their music.

What needs to be done? Is there a total Terabyte or more of shows ? What if we set up some sort of transfer to my server and had someone with time to make it happen ? Is there any chance here or are you the only one who knows how to name all of these etc ? Just fishing, I have some time, technology experience and or people who can work on this as well as the investment $ needed for time involved.

I've got a RAID loaded with all of the audio recordings I have. They are all sorted by dates, and names in a somewhat consistent manner. If you want to bring a drive over I'll happily copy the data over. I'm not sure how much space it takes up but it's likely between 500 gigs and a terabyte at this point. Email or call and we can set it up.

Throwing my hat in, I can help out technically and/or donate some hardware. I think we should set up a few servers and mirror content. Just brain storming.
I need 2 Kingston Tickets, please help.

Chris has brought it this far (all the shows etc) lets get it Live

First of all, Thank you Chris.

3.0 err?

Second of all after much pondering on the best way too share this data....

I think I will go with google drive, 1TB storage, $10 a month (donations welcome). Not sure about the bandwidth limit, can't find a straight answer. Here is a link to the data I have uploaded so far.

https://drive.google.com/folderview?id= ... sp=sharing

I plan on creating a folder so people can upload if the archive is missing something.

What I don't like is that you can not download a whole folder. I might ZIP each show once I get everything organized? MP3 only shows in the same directory as flac shows? Does it matter? So many questions.

Lance

Hi Lance,

Thanks for posting shows to Google Drive. While downloading the Montreal show from 2015-02-20, I noticed that Wheat Kings was missing. Would you be able to add that missing track? Thanks!

Could everything be uploaded to Archive.org?

It requires permission from the band. We've tried in the past and they've never agreed. Feel free to try again as that would be the absolute best solution.

SRB is there, along with lots of other friends of The Hip so I cannot figure out why they aren't there too.

I've sent a message to the guy that does their website and photography to see if he can point me in the right direction to get permission to add them to archive.org. I'll let you know what he says.

Good luck! I'm quite sure that MAv has been asked in the past, but perhaps now is the time...
