We had high hopes for our last attempt at an archive but like so many things Hip it eventually died on the vine. (Although I've just moved the files to a new location for my new plan detailed below.)

I will share all of my recordings, and and all of the recordings that I have collected over the years. Over the course of the last few months I've been slowly copy all of the CDs and DVDs of audio and video to a massive RAID. This week we upgraded our business internet connection to a dedicated 20 meg service. During the evenings and weekends I will open the site up for downloads via FTP.

If you've got a show that I don't have please send me a note and I will hook you up with an upload username and password.

Ideally I'd like to find a way to make the site make a few bucks to cover off the cost of the drive (~ $1000). Any thoughts on this matter are appreciated.

If everything goes to plan the site will be online in the next two weeks. Between now and then please post your comments, suggestions, requests, etc., in this thread.

A Dutch Hip fan and taper has sent me some juicy fresh transfers of his original recordings from the 90s. Listening to Groningen from 1997 and the band sound so alive it's like I'm there!

Much appreciated! I can make a contribution if you can set something up, or PayPal or e-money transfer works for me as well.

Looking forward to whatever you set up Chris! Can't wait to hear those new transfers :)

Earlier last year, you mentioned a member from the TaperSections site that had 40 Hip masters he was working on. Was there any further word about those?

Cheers as always......

I've got terabytes of shows. The monthly/annual fees make the cloud options unrealistic in my opinion... But if there is a site out there that meets the bill I'm happy to explore the option.

I'll gladly donate for some quality live Hip, especially if it's from the 90s. Can't wait to see what you come up with man.

Thanks for the suggestion but I'm not interested in having to do any work to keep the site going. It's just my archive of all my files, available for others to enjoy. Nothing more, nothing less.

I don't have any limits on my internet connection, and the 10 Terabyte drive offers more than enough storage.

If you need a donation let me know when/where? Maybe we could have a list of who is willing do give cash,so we get an idea of how much each,or how about an auction, those interested donate a hip related item,or two, rather than just bidding in here, list it on ebay to max out our investment.

There is a company in China that will soon offer 10TB cloud storage free of charge.

Sign me up!

And if the Chinese government want to review my data... go for it! Perhaps I can be responsible for breaking The Hip into China!!!

I've got the first 600 or so shows on the server. I need to spend some time renaming files, organizing, etc... But it's starting to come together.
