Thanks...maybe I'm missing something - but what are "the hits"?
12 "hits" in this show with other songs classified in another grouping.
Not a huge deal - just curious.

If I had to guess what he was talking about I would pick these from the first chicago show.HIPLVR wrote:Thanks...maybe I'm missing something - but what are "the hits"?

Not 12 by my count
And I think 10 "hits" out of 25 songs is a great show. (Even if they did play Fireworks both nights)
2. Poets
4. In View
5. Gift Shop
7. Fireworks
9. Ahead By A Century
13. Courage (For Hugh Maclennan) (A)
16. Grace, Too
19. Bobcaygeon
20. New Orleans Is Sinking
23. My Music At Work

Ya I had the same list minus Fireworks, I couldn't get to 10, that's why I had to ask.Tthip wrote:If I had to guess what he was talking about I would pick these from the first chicago show.HIPLVR wrote:Thanks...maybe I'm missing something - but what are "the hits"?

I like the Courage - Acoustic too as a "non-hit" - but understand the inclusion.

Playing the hits is fine with me. I had an incredible time at the show since I was in the first row! Nothing like being 3 feet from Gordie. Also my buddy got a shoutout for wearing a California Golden Seals jersey. That was awesome.
I really hope a recording of this show is posted. I had an awesome time.

For night 1, I also included Locked and Ocean as 'A' songs. My opinion, of course.
While we're sort of on it, my ideal 'realistic' setlist would include 8 N, 9 A, 5 B, 3 C / D.
On a % of total setlist basis: 32% new, 36% hits and casual faves, 20% songs people that have a bunch of Hip albums should know, 12% from the vault for the die-hards.
That Golden Seals jersey was pretty cool. Gilles Meloche!!!

It was incredible, I didn't know the $40 Craig Patrick jersey I bought off Ebay would lead to what could end up being the greatest moment in my life, haha. Having that boot would be awesome!!

At the end of the day, where there is a will there is a way. You know, as they say, it's a good life if you don't weaken.
