Kathryn spent the entire first set standing side stage watching her husband play. She spent the second set with family and friends. I saw Sarah Harmer hanging with Gord's wife the whole evening.chris wrote:The woman in the fedora was Kathryn Humphreys aka Mrs Johnny Fay.thebends wrote:Fine show, good crowd but I didn't think it had quite the energy of Friday. We we're sitting 9th row floor on the centre right side and had a massive section of seats beside us completely empty until 2 minutes before the lights went out. There were 4 undercover security guards around the section that helped usher what looked like the entire extended Hip family (kids included) to the empty seats. Did anyone else see this??? Gord dedicated a happy birthday to Lulu (sp?) before one of the songs and a dedication to Carol (sp?) on another occation, both times pointing to the section of seats beside us. I might be way off on this one but it looked like last night was a special family and friends show for the boys. The whole throng was escorted backstage for the intermission and brought back promptly before Bear. I'm pretty sure Gord's wife was there wearing a sharp white suite with a very cool fedora - we met her, Gord and baby in stroller before a show in Boston several years ago. Anyway, I ramble on about non show stuff but I thought it was interesting.

Currently uploading to Youtube full songs from 10th Row RIght Side Floors for Twist My Arm, Tiger The Lion, 100th Meridian (2nd half of song), The Bear, FIreworks (Acoustic), IOD - I had to dodge Disco lady and Gigantor so it is all dodging around a bit - audio is good again, though

Man the boys really appreciated the family in front of Robby with the black t shirts that spelt out "The Hip". The two kids each got a hankerchief from Gord, water bottles from Gord S at intermission and Johnny's sticks at the end of the show - what an awesome Dad that guy is
Wheat Kings was a real treat as it is only the 2nd time hearing it out of 10 shows. Depression Suite and Grace are the 2 best openers of all time. It was cool seeing Robby sing to himself the "OOooooo's" at the end of Recluse - never seen that before. Thank goodness for the last second change to ABAC for the encore. And finally, the ending of Verge was so amazing! They're jam kept getting faster and faster - it was wild - if you were there you know what I mean.

I'm running out of unique comments! I just appreciate the fact that no matter how many numbers of shows these guys play in a row, they always give it their all and play their hearts out.
Back up to the gallery for Tuesday....

some random thoughts...
still loving the depression suite as an opener. such a great epic song.
i never can get enough of it's a good life, and having that follow morning moon was perfect for me
last recluse intro'd as who are you and that song, for me, has changed from originally being
under appreciated on the cd to the one i most anticipate hearing live now. the ending of
this song tonight was hauntingly incredible...something i will never forget
yawning and snarling(a++) going into you're not the ocean was a big peak for me
giftshop had an incredible robbie intro and robbie continued to rule it
on the verge was perfect and it boiled into an incredible closing peak moment
the idiot factor was big tonight specifically seat 44g(rcf)...aside from the general disorder...
who screams out "i wish i was at the cottage" in the middle of an acoustic wheat kings?
6 nights eh...i knew stepping in it wasn't that big of a gamble, and it isn't completely over yet,
but i can say it has been an incredible ride. the music is spot on and the setlist
variations have been what's kept it so real. i'm gonna miss seeing my band at the grand ol lady
on shuter street

Hey guys! I thought it was an amazing show and makes me wish I bought more tickets but then my wallet turned and slapped me in the face. ABAC was just what I needed. If it was a last minute change then it was the best luck ive had in a long time. I was at the front of the balcony so heres what I got.

It was an average show at best. I think most people who have seen them over twenty years would agree if they were honest.

Well, having seen them about two dozen times in a period over about 20 years, I thought that the show was excellent.
I'm just pissed that I had to miss 'The Bear' because it was impossible to get a beer!

Why do you go to shows, and post on this site as it seems like you've got a serious hate-on for the band?BakersBrew wrote:It was an average show at best. I think most people who have seen them over twenty years would agree if they were honest.
