What is the best way to test a track to see if it was originally MP3'd?chris wrote:Sean - can you confirm that all of those shows are lossless? Not just that they are FLACs now - but that they've never been MP3'd?

I found this guide on frequency & spectral analysis in the forums at u2torrents.com. It doesn't mean for certain that a file is lossless or lossy, but it can give hints to the range of the music file. I've done the analysis from time to time on some of the music files I'd downloaded/traded for, to see what shows up, and for the most part they look okay. What I should do is take a known lossless .wav file, do the analysis, and then compress it to .mp3 and do the analysis to compare.Tthip wrote:What is the best way to test a track to see if it was originally MP3'd?chris wrote:Sean - can you confirm that all of those shows are lossless?
