Details: The Hip at Historic Fort York in Toronto, June 24th 2006. This show was fantastic, a
bunch of gems thrown in the setlist including the return of 38 Years Old, almost 12
years to the day since it's last preformance. The best intro to Courage I've ever heard
as well.

Disc 1:

01 - Don't Wake Daddy
02 - Courage
03 - Ocean
04 - Summer Is Killing Us
05 - Good Life
06 - Chagrin Falls
07 - Nautical Disaster
08 - Nashville
09 - 38 Years Old
10 - Puttin Down
11 - 100th Meridian
12 - Sherpa

Disc 2:

01 - Springtime In Vienna
02 - No Threat
03 - Blow At High Dough
04 - Something On
05 - The Wherewithal
06 - Crowd
Encore
07 - Drop Off
08 - Greasy Jungle
09 - We'll Go Too

Enjoy!

I asked this on the tracker forum as well, but what made the Fort York shows so special (or at least more special ;))? Was it just the fact they played 38 Years Old, or where there some other stand-out moments?

The second night was one of the best setlists I have ever seen (heard) IMO.

So many gems in there and they were just one after another. Then when 38 hit, it really just ripped the place to shreds because no one (and I mean NO ONE was expecting it).

Thanks for that, Trevor. I can imagine that the first appearance of Fiddlers Green in Montreal similar effect. :D

The set from fort York does seem fantastic though. I'd love to hear The Wherewithal (properly) live!

Oh, and I've just been reading your blog. Very interesting. :D I love your photos, and your wedding looked amazing. ....Also, the photos of CK made me chuckle.

And maybe it was just me but the setlist was just one after another of songs I really wanted to hear. Plus the crowd was ten times better than they were at the first show. Everything just came together that night for me!

  Thanks for having a look!! I don't think many people do and I am still in the early stages of understanding how all of it works. I know one things for sure, I do enjoy posting to it and I hope to make it more frequent once things slow down and I have a little more time.

Cheers!

That's cool! :D London was a bit like that for me (although, it being my first an only Hip gig, I didn't have much frame of reference ;)) but the setlist just seemed to be written for me! :D I loved it. The crowd were great as well (I was told beforehand that the place would be full of Canadians, which is great as you're a very friendly bunch :D). The only thing that let it down, was the sound was a bit off where we were standing.

The thing that did it for me for the 2 Ft. York shows was that on back to back nights, not a single song was repeated. That's 40 different songs over the two shows!

Not to mention that it was probably the clearest sound I've heard at a venue in a very long time, as evidence by Steve's recordings :thumb:

There was something special about both those nights. It could be 38 Years Old, or the no repeats, or anything. It was as good a week as I've ever had as a fan of this band. Better than the Dec 21 and Dec 23 run in the Hammer and Toronto in 2000; better than the Aug 1 & 2 2002 at the Amp; better than Montreal and Toronto over Thanksgiving (and a bit beyond) in the same year.

There was an energy on stage and a fever in the crowd. I can't wait to try to top it. So thanks to Steve, et al, for letting me relive it.

Cheers,

Pat
