I bought a CD on eBay called "In Concert - The Tragically Hip / Midnight Oil" and I plan on posting it on the tracker... as long as we can identify the show.
The DJ announces that it was recorded at The Roxy on Sunset Strip; but the shows listed at The Roxy in the setlist database don't match up.
The show was broadcast the week of November 22, 1993. It is a soundboard recording, with excellent sound. The CDs are stright from the radio station and include all of the commercials, and the seller even sent the broadcast notes with cues, timing, etc. I think that these were included on a Roxy and Elsewhere... compilation, because I've heard bits of this show before
01. Lionized
02. Three Pistols (Intro: Here's another Canadian myth that just happens to be true. Outro: Beautiful stage, beautiful mahogony wood, do you think Errol Flynn didn't want to be Cary Grant?)
03. Courage
04. Twist My Arm (You'll get your tune if you stop shoutin' it!)
05. Bring It All Back (For the Sand Rubies from Tucson, Arizona ladies and gentlemen... It came today.)
06. Little Bones (Intro: Beauty won't save the world; but a teeny, tiny cat could. Outro: Thank you very much. Have a very pleasant spring.)
07. We'll Go Too (We'd like to do one for the crew... they're all nihilists.)
08. On The Verge (I'm standing at the edge of a new abyss, a top ten list, and it goes like this. Trick the plants into thinking you're wind. Rub them every day and they'll think you're wind. Simulate wind an' your pants...)
So... what's this show? Let me know, and I'll get it torrented... commercials and all! Classics including one for the new In Car CD player from Sony.

I torrented the Hip's set sans commercials (I think) a while back, but please torrent the whole disc, as (1) my source is from cassette, and (2) I'd love to hear the Midnight Oil set.

Edit: I had the same problem trying to match setlists, but unless it is sourced from 2 different shows, the Roxy 1993-04-26 (I believe that's the date) is the best match....here's what dstar found when putting his torrent together:

DIME has had a ton of Midnight Oil shows over the last year or so. I've just counted and I've downloaded over 70 Oils shows from there, and that's not all the ones that have been available. There's been at least 5-6 dvd's as well.

Chris -
Back in early 1994 I picked up a music magazine I believe was called Goldmine and they had a bunch of record stores listed throughout the world who sold bootleg CD's. One of these stores had this Westwood One CD listed. I bought it through mail-order, it was my first live Hip CD. Mine too came with the cue sheet that listed the commercial breaks and the track listing. However, the Midnight Oil portion of the show was not included.
I'm not sure if there is still some confusion regarding when this show was actually played at the Roxy. I see you listed the date of 11/22/93 on the tracker as the date the show was broadcasted on Westwood One (it says the same thing on my CD). However, I believe the show was recorded on 4/26/93 at the Roxy based on this...
The Hip played in Tucson at Coyotes on 4/22/93 (my first show) and 4/23/93. I have always assumed this CD was recorded at The Roxy in Los Angeles three days later on 4/26/93. Although I don't remember all the songs they played in Tucson on 4/22, I know many of the tracks on this disc sound very similar to what I remember. Also, Gord mentions The Sand Rubies at the start of Bring it all Back. They were a band from Tucson, AZ that was very popular at the time. They opened for them at Coyotes and it sounds like they opened for them at the Roxy in LA as well. Considering LA is only 350 miles from Tucson, its logical that the tour headed to the west coast after AZ.
I don't own the CD Roxy & Elsewhere, but I always assumed parts of it were taken from this show, along with their 1991 performance. Anyhow, that is my two cents. The version of Bring it all Back on this CD is the best live version of this song I have ever heard. I've been waiting 13+ years to hear this song live again!
ps - did you notice the DJ introduces the Hip as being from "the Great Northwest"? Geography is no longer being taught in school down here in the States.
