Perhaps a PM to jerremy, the site owner is in order?
It's been down for quite some time.
If there is enough interest, I'll look into the costs of setting up a dedicted high-speed FTP server.

Well let's explore this together. Before I start searching aimlessly, does anyone have any suggestions on what to do?
I just got a static IP for my company but it is a wireless connection, and my provider caps my monthly usage... so it's not the best option.
I have an internet host that will provide 12Gb of storage and 10 Gb of transfers per day for under $10 per month... but that's not nearly enough storage... unless we only hosted MP3 shows, and leave the FLAC/SHN's and videos for Bit Torrent.
I can get a business connection run to my home, and run it from there, but the costs are quite high... so I'd need to make it a "subscription service."
Thoughts?

I wouldn't rule out a subscription service, but I think what would happen is ppl would sign up for a month and download 24/7, you'd end up with heavy traffic sometimes and none oter times. Plus, you may run into some problems "paying" for the service, although there wouldn't be any profit in it. Also, most collectors wouldn't go for the mp3 concert idea. My personal opinion is that its not neccessary. Chris is keeping the tracker running well and there is a good turnover of shows, plus the traffic is being dispersed via torrents. I don't really have any suggestions.

Hi all,
Sorry - looks like I'm having some router trouble.
Since my move, the server is in the basement - so I usually check to see that it's running ok by logging in from my laptop when I'm home. I have been doing this - and both the web site and the ftp are running.
But, now trying to get to the site or ftp here from work, I can't get either.
So, it has to be the router not letting in traffic.
I'll check it out this evening. Sorry for the downtime.
Please don't hesitate to send me a PM or email if the site is down. I'm not sure how long its been unavailable. Also, I had been taking it down during the evening hours as I often work from home and I need the bandwidth.
Chris, or others - if you have a faster, full-time connection to the net, and you'd be willing to take on the server, I would certainly be willing to donate it to a better place which could be on all the time and in blazing high-speed.
Again, I'll check it out tonight and see what's up.
Take it easy,
Jerremy

wow....wasn't expecting this to be such a busy topic....i love the ftp, haven't been on in lonnggg time, and was suprised when it wouldn't work...will be glad when it is working again...
as for the other ideas.....not sure what the best route would be...i like the torrents thing, so you probably could just go the mp3 route with the ftp... the problem with the torrents is timing....once you miss out, you're pretty much stuck, unless someone reseeds for you...luckily everyone is so helpful that you can usually get what you want......
on that topic.....i just got a dvd burner on monday, and would LOVE if anyone could seed a dvd or 2....don't care what ones (whatever the best ones are.....)....but that's a topic for another thread...

Hi all,
Looks like it's working again. My router was not allowing traffic in.
Please keep in mind that some evenings I do take it down, ~6-11ish... and it may be down at times during the weekend if I need the bandwidth.
My webpage and the FTP are on the same server. So, if you can get to the webpage and not the FTP, I've probably just taken down the FTP to do some work.
Again, please feel free to email or PM me if you think it's not working... I'm going to set up a remote admin so I don't have to always run down to the basement to see if it's running.
Take it easy,
Jerremy
