Gino, hengelo, Hiegh Sierra, are three audios with great sound. Many of the videos have better sound too and then you can convert to a wav.

The Holy Trinity of course: Roxy, Galstonbury and Fisherman's Paradise.

Woodstock '99 is great apart from a few TV and technical sounds here and there.

The 9:30 Club from '96 aint bad

Bill's Bar '98

El Macambo July 2, 1987 (Q107 re-broadcast the show in 1998) It features "Reformed Baptist Blues"

And then of course there's the all but perfect audio from the '98 "Something On" Much Music special and the Planet Studios Sausalito unplugged '98 gig.

Bill's Bar gets my vote...the show on the 10th over the show in the 12th....it has a kickass version of Nautical. ..."we should have came with you when we had the chance"... :thumb:

We need to prioritze a list, hell, we should get the goverment involved if necessary...strike that..I'm sick. I have very few of these shows that Dame listed and quite frankly I am ashamed....what are the dates of the glostonbury and fishermans paradiese shows?

I thought I had Bills, but it's mysteriously absent from my hip folder. Another radio broadcast that I can't find was from my hometown...the boys did a q&a at Higher ground in Winooski VT that was awesome...I hope I can find that on cd in my car...under my son's car seat or something...

A lot of "Glastonbury and Elsewhere" is from Glastonbury no?

Here's what my store bought (back in the days when you could buy bootlegs at record stores) copy has on it:

Recorded in the USA:
Locked
Spring
IOD
Scared
Fully
Nautical
Looking
100th

Recorded in the UK:
Fully
Locked
Courage
Eldorado
50MC
Believe

Here, because Josh's idea is a great one that is long over due, is a list of the most popular and in a lot of ways "must have" recordings.

* Stars beside the stuff that is aboslutely essential in my book.

** Two stars beside the three recordings which make up the "Holy Trinity" as it was called back in the AltFanTragicallyHip days. Perhaps folks can add stuff and help fill in the dates where needed:

Early Days:

Copperpenny Restaurant, Kingston, 1985 *
Grand Central, Ottawa, Fall 1987
Horseshoe Tavern, Toronto, July 15 1988 *
Barrymore's, Ottawa, October 1988 *

Up To Here Sessions:

Spectrum, Montreal, April 11 1990
Ontario Place, Toronto, June 22 1990 *

Road Apples Sessions:

Road Apples outtakes; "Demos and Live Stuff"
Roxy and Elsewhere (Killerwhaletank & Double Suicide) 05/05/91 **
Hengelo, Netherlands, May 24 1991
Fisherman's Paradise. April 1991, XRT Chicago radio broadcast. **

Fully Completely Sessions:

Swinging on a Star, CBC Radio, 1992 *
Horseshoe Tavern, Toronto, April 18 1992
Kumbaya Festival, Ontario Place, Toronto, September 5, 1993 *
Hamburg Germany gig, 12-09-92

Day For Night Sessions:

Glastonbury and Elsewhere 1995 (Gord recites Pascal at the end of "Locked," "Courage for Winston Churchill") **
Day For Night Demos And B-sides
Boston 11/10/94
Gino, Sweden, 1994 *
High Sierra 1995

Trouble At The Henhouse Sessions:

Clarington; 07/13/96
Buffalo; 11/26/96
Washington; 9:30 Club *
Darien Lake; 7/30/97
Barrie; 08/02/97 *

Phantom Power Sessions:

Bill's Bar Boston; 8/10/98 and 8/12/98
Hamilton; 02/18/99
Mississauga; 02/19/99
Toronto; 12/31/99, 01/01/00
Woodstock '99 *
"Something On: The Tragically Hip" Much Music Special (July 7 '98 London) *
Milwaukee show, Modjeska Theatre, Dec '98 *

Music@Work Sessions:

Ottawa; Corel Centre 12/06/00
Montreal; Molson Centre 12/07/00 (quality sucks, but it's the only modern version of "Montreal")
Chicago; 06/13/00
San Francisco; The Filmore 10/25/00
Syracuse, New York Fall 2000

In Violet Light Sessions:

Thanks so much, this is really helpful..
I love hearing the crowds sometimes, but it's annoying after awhile
when like Pavolv's dog go to the volume control because
some huge WOOOOOHOOOOOOO kicks in right as Boots starts..

I have always thought the Dec .98 Milwaukee show (Modjeska Theatre) was one of the best out there. It is soundboard quality.

couple of things..

I think you should add to the list the Boston 11/10/94 bootleg..

If this is not a sbd , it must be a ALD or ear monitor.. sweet!

Also, I only have one of the three Chicago club shows (7/19/02) and that may be one of the best AUD recordings of their entire history.. damn good..

BTW.. As a self-imposed Boston Hipbase representative, I re-mastered both of the Bill's Bar SBDs (8/10/98 and 8/12/98) to the correct speed.

The initial sbd cassettes of these gems (yes, it was casettes in those days kids) played back waaay too slow..

The difference with the speed adjustment is phenominal!!!!

I'd love to set up some trades to replace my out-dated cassettes of some other favorites (Glastonbury, High Sierra 95, Boston 94) since most of my recent trades for these CDR's have been TAO...(Yuk! has to tyrow them away..)

If anyone is intersted in trading audio Hip CDR's of these or the 1996 boots mentioned in this thread (please DAO only) send me a PM...

I'll trade you for my re-mastered Bill's Bar SBDs (you'll never go back to the old version.. honest ) or :...
I also have a vast amount of non-Hip A+ and SBD stuff as well...
(PJ, RUSH, and DMB especially)...

Thanks in advance,
Scott in Boston :thumb:

You should + that Hamburg Germany gig, 12-09-92, someone should add those songs from that at the 100th meridian single that has locked, 100th and fully i think it is, from that gig and make an entire concert of that gig, assuming that is all they played that nite...just a thought. and + that Gino gig from Sweden....
