Does anyone have the setlist?

Is internet downloading of these bands OK?

Does anyone have any proof that Hugh Dillon or the Weakerthans allow trading of their shows online (or anywhere)? Obviously if they've been taped it's a moot point about that part of the equation, but if they don't allow it, we shouldn't be discussing and posting their shows online.

Can anyone confirm or deny?

I do not think it is a problem as long as it is traded and not sold.
If in doubt, contact them to see.

This is my point - those who want to trade these artists have the responsibility to contact them and find out. I'm not the one asking for or offering up these shows. Since it's being discussed here, I simply want the Hip community to be careful when it comes to stepping on the toes of other artists.

It is freely discussed on the HDRC's official forum ( http://www.thehdrc.com/forum.html ), even to the point of band members asking for fan recordings of shows; so I think the answer for them is yes.

They also have a clip from a fan recording available for download/viewing on their main site.

A semi-regular Hipbaser is a member of the HDRC... hopefully he'll chime in with the band's official stance. (Derek, are you out there?)

Either way, I agree with HugeHipFan that we should verify the bands' positions on taping/trading before we get into this. I don't want a show on the tracker if the band isn't cool with it. (But I hope that both these bands are, and that the shows get posted.)

I just emailed both the bands to ask their permission, and if they will grant permission to archive.org.

Really? How did you get a CD that hasn't been released? I'd love to get a copy.

Cool. Thanks for the answer Mike. Even more reason to catch their show.

Not only that but Hugh and various other band members were signing them after their set. I believe only 200 were sold at the show, and they went pretty fast.

This is from Littleproud concerning their live recordings:

>>Basically, we would like to hear it first. Can you get a couple of copies to us?
People have been trading our first show. None of us seems to mind. We are a lot tighter now, though.

I look forward to hearing the show, personally. It was our best one yet.<<

Im in direct contact with Hugh and the boys and they are very receptive to recording, and like the post above says they like to hear what is out there too, of course if a recording is brutal no band is gunna want it out there for trades, anyways this show rules and the quality is through the roof I cant wait to get.
