on monday i seen the allman brothers {great show by the way} and prior to the show they sold vouchers to buy the show on cd. they said it would be ready 10 minutes after the show. sure enough and outstanding 3 disc set was ready when promised. are the hip going this route or the way gord did on his solo tour?? or possibly the way pearl jam did there shows by posting mp3's hours after the show and mailing a mixed finish product a week later. i haven't seen anything official although i'd expect an announcement before the kingston bash. has anyone heard more??

It's too bad nothing of the sorts happened at the Kingston show - although I bet it would have been a logistical nightmare. You know, having 22,000 people lined up after the show to get a copy of it. Although it's such a great idea and they could probably stand to gain some new fans if they did it on the US leg of their tour since the venues are smaller than what they would stand to play in Canada. They could even include them in the ticket price and give them out after the show. The band could even make some money as not everyone would want a copy after the show and from what I have heard, companies that are doing this are "burn on demand."
I think Prince did something just recently with his tour where included in the ticket price was a copy of his latest CD.
I guess we will just have to wait and see what the Hip are willing to do and not do on their upcoming tour.

when i first started waiting in line i thought i'd be stuck there for an hour at the least but people had there voucher and the line went real fast. i would think the allman brothers has about 12 thousand there but i might be high on that number.
