If you could share the Buffalo show on the Tracker, that would be amazing!

Edit: Which Vancouver show do you have? Is it the one with Daredevil that's been posted as the Song of the Day for the past week?

I've got some more shows from that era (96-97). HORDEfest show, Edenfest, 9:30club show from Washington, DC. Those shows were from the tracker. If they are no longer available, I'll post some this long weekend

I have two 9:30 DC shows from 96... The first one being from an FM Source... if not a soundboard. It sounds great! I think the date on it is 96-5-29

The first 9:30 show should be an fm source -- I'm assuming it has the "beeps" in it.

The second show is from 9-30-96 -- I posted that to the old tracker but have "misplaced" the flac files.

Cheers,

Pat

i have the fm 930 show, but not the other...i'll check the dates on the vancouver show, as i haven't listened to it in a while...and I can post the buffalo show, though I don't believe I have the flacs, only mp3 (think i got it from thehundredthmeridan ftp)....if i don't have the flacs, I could upload that show to a different tracker, though i don't want to spread lossy files either....but I'd love to get that 930 show, and the Horde show.....and btw srb, your daughter looks almost IDENTICAL to mine in your picture...i had to do a double take!!!

On a side note - one of these 9:30 Club shows from 1996 has my favorite version ever of Put It Off. It made me a huge fan of this song. My disk with that version got corrupted (that is why you should never put sticker/labels on your CD's kids)
I'll have to check out my CD's and see which one it is.
The Henhouse tour was great, just great.
I'll go through the tracker logs and see what shows have been posted and whatnot and I'll throw a good Henhouse show up there in the next week.

The second 9:30 show features the line "I played 'I Want to f**k You' by DOA / On the day that you were born."

One of the few nights where they didn't go New O -> Escape -> Put It Off on that tour I think.

I've said it before, but I think this is my favourite show that I wasn't at.

Cheers,

Pat

Not only was the May ’96 DC show broadcast on FM, it was also advertised as being available via webcast on the internet (way back when). I remember I had no luck accessing the feed on my 56k dial-up connection at the time. :(

Odds are it’s from the first night, 11/08/96. I’ve heard a recording from that night and the quality is pretty average. That was the show when they screwed up Apartment Song and had to start over, or maybe they just quit in the middle of it, I forget. This was the first show of their ’96 Canadian Arena Tour and it seemed like they were still adjusting to the size of the venue/crowd after playing 6 straight months in the US.

One of the many reasons the following night (11/09/96) is still my favorite concert ever is because the energy was totally different than the opening night. I think the jitters had subsided and they hit the stage “on fire”.

A funny side note to the 11/09/96 show is what happened backstage after the show. We were corralled into a tiny room behind the stage that had an ice chest full of beer and a tiny 19” TV. It just happened to be the night Evander Holyfield fought Mike Tyson for the first time, and that was all they kept showing on the TV. Talk about sensory overload; I just saw the best Hip concert ever, we were waiting to meet the band, and Holyfield beat Tyson!

1996.05.29 - Washington, D.C. - "9:30 Club"
1996.06.21 - Dallas, Texas - "Deep Ellum Live"
1996.07.13 - Clarington, Ontario - "Mosport Park"
1996.07.20 - Boulder, Colorado - "Fox Theatre"
1996.08.17 - Cleveland, Ohio - "The Odeon"
1996.08.22 - Morgan, New Jersey - "Club Bene"
1996.08.25 - Manassas, Virginia - "Nissan Pivillion"
1996.08.28 - Columbia, South Carolina - "Rockafella's"
1996.09.30 - Washington, D.C. - "9:30 Club"
1996.10.01 - Lancaster, Pennsylvania - "Chameleon Club"
1996.11.08 - Vancouver, British Columbia - "Pacific Coliseum"
1996.11.10 - Vancouver, British Columbia - "Pacific Coliseum"
1996.11.18 - Saskatoon, Saskatchewan - "Saskatchewan Place"
1996.11.26 - Buffalo, New York - "Marine Midland Arena"
1996.11.29 - Ottawa, Ontario - "Corel Centre"

That Dallas show kicks ass as well.

Sean - can you confirm that all of those shows are lossless? Not just that they are FLACs now - but that they've never been MP3'd?

If so, please start posting!

The Clarington show is the only mp3 one that I know of for sure. Also, these boots are on CD... so I guess they may be a bit lossy if they were originally recorded at a "higher than cd quality" bitrate, but I'm not sure.
I'll see what I can do, but I have three finals next week... and this comp's CD drive is the worst piece of crap known to man. It would probably take 2 hours to rip a concert, and even then, its a slim chance that it won't freeze while doing so. I can try, but it might be easier just to wait until April 18th, when I'm back in New Brunswick.

I think Chris is asking if you can confirm that the cd shows were not burned from .mp3 sources, as opposed to being downsampled from higher qualities.

Chris, maybe a frequency/spectral analysis should be included with any upload which doesn't include the exact lineage. I think on U2torrents it is mandatory to include those with uploads, to avoid the possibility of lossy backgrounds.

Eek, I don't know, as most of them are from trades.
EDIT: Any way you can look at ripped files in Audacity and figure out if they've ever been mp3s or not?
