I'll second that

Yeah, that's probably about what I've sunk in the last 2 weeks on my first set-up. Unfortunately the battery box and mics, at least the kind I ended up ordering, didn't seem to be the kind of thing that you'd pick up at a Sony Store, etc. The recorder I got (Edirol R-09) came from Long&McQuaid in Toronto. The other stuff was ordered online, and I'm still waiting. I was able to record last week with the R-09's internal mics, and a borrowed set one night, but don't count on capturing your dream quality recording by Oshawa. It is a great hobby though, and I'm only a week into it!chris wrote:Read the posts in this thread as they explain most of it; and it all depends on how much you want to spend.RevolutionMan wrote:hey im looking to start recording finally, starting with the oshawa show, audio wise, where and what kind of good equipment should i use? like i get the actual recorder and then external mics? can i stuff at the sony store or somewherE? thanks
$1000 and up seems to be a reasonable starting point for a recorder, battery box, mics and cables...
It is really exciting when you listen your recording back for the first time! Here's hoping that 2007 is a year full of taping and sharing.Hairbird wrote:It is a great hobby though, and I'm only a week into it!

I don't need it. I don't need it. I don't need it. I don't need it. I don't need it. I don't need it. I don't need it. I don't need it. I don't need it. I don't need it. I don't need it. I don't need it. I don't need it. I don't need it. I don't need it.
