Well I feel comforted by the influx in Union flags here, not so much of an echo in the eastern side of the pond corner
And welcome MR. G.
As someone who was also potentially probed by Mr. Dame, I can inform you it is relatively painless, and the natives do not, as was reported, eat children or people who aren't 'local'

Welcome Gorilla...glad to have you aboard...the only thing that I request is that you NEVER and I mean NEVER type in W*orella's full name for fear that she may appear on our beatiful little w*orella-free piece of the world that we enjoy here....
Cheer-e-o to you good chap and look forward to many more chats...

Is that like the Candyman thing?
If you say her name 3 times she will come??
I wonder how Madge is sometimes... But then I stop drinking.

Hello...
I'm new here. Just starting listening to the Hip 2-3 years ago, been a huge fan ever since.
I am from Moncton, NB, but currently living in Fredericton, NB as I am attending school.
I've seen the hip play twice - Sept. 3, 2005 in Moncton, and June 30, 2006 in Charlottetown, can't wait to see them again.

Hello fellow Hip fans...
I've been a member for a few months, but have never posted, prefering to lurk and absorb the knowledge and experiences here. But with the many exciting events coming up for Hip Nation, I felt it was time to break the silence.
I've been a Hip fan since Fully Completely, saw my first show "down at the speedway" in Stittsville for ARA '95 and have seen them 8 more times since in Ottawa, Montreal, New York City and recently at Fort York II (38 YEARS OLD!!!!!)
Using Furthur (once a decent live show sharing software, lately no so much), I've accumulated over 70 shows mostly in MP3 format and would love to share with fellow fans...
Both of my girls have attended Hip concerts in the womb, so they were indoctrinated from pre-birth, and my wife and I both proudly sport Hipbase shirts.
I look forward to discussing the many subtleties and nuances that make the Tragically Hip the greatest band on the planet, and would like to leave you with something a wise man once told me...
"I am a Beatles fan..."

Anyone here that would recognise an old a.m.t-h card carrier?
I fear the time may've come to finally turn off the lights in there.
I suppose they/we all slowly migrated, snatched by aliens in the night,
anal probed and dumped, dribbling and scared of shadows in the Hipbase
now, eh?

Ahem...
Okay, so that's probably a little harsh. [But I'm sure Stephen Dame was
'one of them'

So...here I am. Blinking into the light. The dawning of a brave new
world. Broadband access. Ha!
Mother?...
I'm a little slow on the reply...but yes...I do recognize an old A.M.T-H'er...I don't think I've checked in for a couple of years, but between 1998(ish) and 2002 I spent a lot of time on there (lots of lurking / light posting)...and always enjoyed the commentary from yourself, Ren, Rohit and others (that W****** person, not so much!)
Anyways, enjoy the new digs and keep us up to date on the overseas perspective!

Greetings to all!
I thought it best that I finally get more directly involved. I've been a Hip fan for 10 years, and visited their original website even way back then, when I first discovered Trouble at the Henhouse, and then bought almost all their back catalogue in the following months (with my paper route money...)
Not 2 hours ago I just won "beat the box office" tickets to one of their Vancouver shows at the kickass Commodore Ballroom here in Vancity. I CANNOT WAIT. I ashamedly admit I haven't gotten to see them live before.
I am pumped beyond belief. I might just cry.
