My name is Todd, I'm from Burlington, Vermont originally. I now live Salt Lake City, Utah mainly for skiing Alta, Snowbird and Snowbasin. I love it out here but I miss my hip, my many live hip cds are so good for me out here.

I first got turned onto the hip in 1996. I've seen about 10-15 hip shows since then, I love them live. I've seen great shows where they have done triple encores :D :D :D .

I like a variety of band like Floyd, Zeppelin, Phish, Talking Heads, The Stones, etc. The Hip always fit in nice with that mix.

Hey i'm Matt i'm from BC, victoria to be technical and i'm one of the new generation of hip fans(still in high school). my dad lent me his old copy of "Day for Night" and i was hooked. The hip's great playing, meaningful lyrics, amazing vocals, and allout passion and patriotism for the land i love got me in seconds. I'm one CD from completeting my collection(excluding those singles CDs those are so hard to find) and the two prides of my collection are a road crew T-shrt from the '99 tour and the Demo copy of "Music at work" that was presented to the record company and eventually given to my uncle and then me with the T-shirt. All i can say about Christmas ever. Though i've been into the hip for about 4 years my first hip concert was the vancouver one in november this year. well thanks for reading and as a side note i'm Comedian(literally). Oh and corner gas is the best show on the planet.

In a short period of time, they have become very special to me- see, my dad just died from cancer and for the past while all I've litsened to is the Hip- just one of those times when it was what I needed to calm down and deal with the fight at hand. Anyway, thats my little Hip discovery story- I kinda wanted to write Downie a letter thanking him for what the music has meant to me, but figured its not like it'd ever actually reach him, so the next best thing is to come talk to people who might feel the same way about their music. so yes... hi!
Sorry about your loss, I think the Hip means something special to all of us fans, I love how music can do that for a person. And Im sure it wouldnt hurt to try and write to Gord, you never know. Anyways, its good to have you here. :thumb:

Hi, i'm Greg (obvious from the name), from Richmond Virginia. A little surprised to see so many American hip fans around here.

I disovered the Hip about 5 years ago, back when we first got "extended cable", which means all those channels over 30 like comedy central, etc. However, b/c my TV was old the only new channel I got was an unknown to me Canadian music video station called MuchMusic. The first hip song I ever heard was the "Music @ Work" video, and the onlyat the time, as a few weeks later MuchMusic was replaced with Fuse.

I forgot completely about the hip and their entrancing tune until I accidentally discovered "In Between Evolution" on vacation in Tennessee. Ever since, they've become one of my favorite bands.

I have most of their albums, except some of their early stuff which I don't like as much (BLASPHEMY!!!). My fav album is probably Fully Completely and my favorite song is Nautical Disaster.

Hey everyone. My name is Vinny and I am originally from Niagara Falls, NY. I go on the site a lot but rarely post anything. I have seen the Hip over 30 times and they will continue to be my favourite band. In the past few years I have lived back home in NF, Buffalo, Geneseo(NY), Boston, Syracuse and I am currently in New York City. The best tour for me so far was the PP tour. They did a ton of shows in the Northeast and I think I caught most of them. The best of those was 12/4/98 Webster Theatre. I was lucky enough to hang out backstage with the guys after the show. Great experience.

:welcome to the Hipbase Vinny! Over 30 shows, thats great! And I agree the Phantom Power tour was a good one, for me the IBE tour has been the best so far, that and the "Evening With" shows, nothing like a 32 song set! (especially twice in 3 days) :thumb:
