Hello fellow Hipsters! My name is Nick and I'm a 23 year old high school teacher from Northern New York. I grew up close enough to Canada that I could throw a stone to the better half of North America. I look forward to many years of Tragically Hip to come!

Yeah, Been on here since June and this was the first time I've ever bothered to look in this section, but as stated above, 'better late than never.'
I'm Eric, 19 years old, second-year journalism student at Ryerson, born and raised in Toronto. Favorite album is DFN, song Nautical Disaster. Actually have been aware of the hip since I was about 10 but only after I bought LBU shortly after the release of IVL did I become hooked.

I also finally checked out this section...I'm Josh, 30 years old from Moorhead, MN (right across the river from Fargo, ND). Been listening to the hip since 93, but didn't become hooked until seeing them at First Ave. in Minneapolis in March 95. In college I got to be friends w/ a bunch of hockey players from Saskatchewan who introduced me to the band. I found this board about a month ago and have been checking it out a couple of times a day since. Heading up to Winnipeg next month for the show, was going to Brandon but no longer w/ the cancellation. It will be my 4th show of the tour (also went to Portland, Seattle and Minneapolis) and 15th overall. Also, the Hip directly led to me meeting my future wife while on a train in Norway, but thats a whole other story. Needless to say, this band has been a big part of my adult life and I look forward to many more years.

Eh whatsup! My name is Raz and I was born and raised in Toronto/Markham. I am presently residing in Midland, Michigan. Finishing a Automotive Marketing/Management degree at Northwood University. I can rememeber hearing the Hip when i was bout 10 and on. I'm now 25, and in 2002 I bought the IVL album and picked up flyfishing around the same time, and I have been addicted to both since. I have spent great time chasing trout thoughout Ontario and the Hip have always been in my Cd player. I am actually going to see my first show in Grand Rapids tonight!!!! I also lived in Barrie for three years and regret not seeing them in concert before. Thr Hip rock and big-ups and respect to the creators and stewards of this site!!!!!!! Very impressed since I stumbled onto this site recently. Peace
Raz
P.S. the 996 is a model designation for a Porsche engine

Howdy,
for starters; I'm 22 and living in Victoria right now. Originally from the Okanagan Valley, finished at UVic last year. I'm a lefttenant in the Army and have been a loyal hip fan since I was 13.
the first album I ever bought was FC, and although I liked the music I was still relativly young. Wasn't until I bought DFN and listened to Grace, Too and GJ like 500 times on a flight from BC to NB I became obsessed. G2 is still my favorite song ever made and to this day there isn't a song I sing louder while I'm driving.
GD inspired me to write poetry long before CMG and when it came out I definitly loved the subtlety of the book and the album.
I've been to 3 concerts and one coming up on Sunday in Van.
My most disappointing hip story: Remember the Tix they gave away inside LBU? I actually was one of the ticket winners for the ARA they had that year. if I'm not mistaken it was their last. However, Universal sent me the Tix 2 days before the concert and I had no way to get there (I lived 6 hrs away). Had no car and was only 16 if I remember. Anyways, I've always wanted to write TTH or universal and plead my case but never bothered. This is actually the first time I put it in writing. in any case; not a great story, but one nonetheless.
Anyways, I never bothered to join a community before, but I caved. That, as they say, is the nutshell. Cheers.

Hi everyone! Long-time Hip fan, but new to this site (yeah yeah, I know, where have I been?

)
I'm 31 years old now, I live in Mississauga now, but I come from London, Ontario. Been a fan since working in the electronics department of a Zellers store and seeing and hearing their video for Blow at High Dough for the first time. I remember walking home from high school and ducking into an record store to buy Up to Here... I came up 3 cents short and the guy behind the counter let me get away with it. Funny the things you remember sometimes.
Anyway, I've seen three Hip shows... they played Frosh Week at UWO in 1991, plus I've seen them once at ACC (their first concert there) and in Wantagh (sp?), New York... friend of mine from high school organized a bus tour to see them for their Phantom Power tour, along with a bunch of other crazy Hip fans, most of whom I hadn't met before or since... talk about a real-life Escape is at Hand for the Travelin' Man moment! I have tix to see them at ACC again for my fourth show, taking two people who have never seen them live before... can't wait for them to be blown away by their performance! I've prepared for this by getting my Team Canada hockey jersey lettered with "The Hip" on the back with the number 1, and I'll be proudly wearing it at the show! Can't wait, less than 3 weeks to go!
Thanks for those of you who read my long post, and look forward to chatting with other members of Hip Nation. HIP FOREVER!

Mark;
I'm from Armstong, the bustling metropolis. Best Hip experience would have to be first concert I went to, Van 00. "An evening with" I believe. The double set was great. That's my best I suppose.
