New to bit torrents and just downloaded my first ever on the weekend (Hip Cleveland audio)

What are we talking about in terms of d/l time for video? I'm assuming its longer than audio because of the larger file sizes, but how time much are we talking about?

Thanks all

it all depends on how many people are seeding at the time, and how fast their uploading speeds are.
since you download from other people, and not a central server, it's hard to tell.
although once you open up the bittorrent client, it should tell you how long it is expected to take....of course, that time could change drastically over the course of your download should people come on or off.
generally, though, i find it takes at least 2 days at the best of times to download 1 dvd. i've had some take a week, though.

Thanks rivum. I totally forgot to consider the amount of seeders, their speed etc.

But your ballpark figures are definitely what i was looking for. I think I'll stick to audio only. I dont have a dvd burner and I cant see myself sitting in front of my computer very long to watch even the best downloaded show.

Thanks again.

Chris, did you ever post the second disc? Did I totally miss it? The first one is great, thanks for posting it.

I haven't posted disc 2... yet. Life and The Hip got in the way.

No problem. I was just wondering if I had somehow missed it. If you ever do get the chance to post it, I'd love to finish of the set. Thanks again.

I found disc 2 over at www.easytree.org shortly after Chris released disc 1. Don't know if it's still circulating, but worth a check. It may also have been posted on sharingthegroove, but I guess that option is dead :(
