The Arkell's impressed me, only song I heard before from them for sure is "whistleblower" on NHL'13, don't recall them playing it tonight though!
I feel like I've heard "Oh the boss is coming" on a commercial for something somewhere? Is that the case?
The Hip were on par with any of their other performances I've seen so far so no complaints there!
Surprise "like" of the concert was Man Machine Poem though! I felt Gord's vocals on it were pretty close to the album but had that extra power behind them without seeming too forced! (Can't say the same for some songs tonight but that's nothing new lol)
Overall, had a great night and seen lots of people I knew!
PS,
If any of you are missing a condom from the show, I think Daryl24 picked it up as a souvenir instead of buying a t-shirt this time around! LOL.

The show was a lot of fun. Best hip show I have seen in a number of years, and much better than the last time through Moncton in 2011.
Does anyone know the Arkells setlist?
I taped their set and the Hip's. I can track the Hip's with no problem but I am not familiar with the Arkells, so I don't know the songs! I'll post the Hip recording on etree soon. It came out very well!

As a moderate to big fan of the Arkells, I would love to get my hands/ears on the Arkells set! Saw them at the Regina show and this was the setlist:
01 deadlines
02 michigan left
03 pullin punches
04 kiss cam
05 oh the boss is coming
06 ballad of hugo chavez
07 on paper
08 ohio (csny cover, first verse) into 'no champagne socialist' - back to 'ohio' reprise
09 whistleblower
i'm thinking it might be very similar, hope that helps!

thanks for that Arkells setlist. I will listen back and see if it matches. The Ohio > Champagne Socialist > Ohio certainly was the same, and in the same slot.
I will run through the show later and let you know when you can down load it.
For now, I posted the Hip show to etree.

I was going to say it's odd I missed Whistleblower but I remember I went for a leak near the end of their set so I'd miss the crowd during intermission and catch all of The Hip!

If it helps for identifying, all the songs feature the title in the lyrics except Kiss Cam and Ballad Of Hugo Chavez
01 deadlines "we've got deadlines to meet"
02 michigan left "...and all i kept hearing was michigan left"
03 pullin punches "i know you're one to pull no punches, honey"
04 kiss cam opens with "this campfire won't last forever,
The Hip have only wrote so many songs..." ~nice nod
05 oh the boss is coming "oh the boss is coming, you better look busy..."
06 ballad of hugo chavez opens with "it was a bad idea to give me this kind of time..."
07 on paper "on paper i could write it out for you..."
08 no champagne socialist "he continues to insist that he's no champagne socialist"
09 whistleblower "when it happens over and over, can we hear it for the whistleblower?"
great work on the upload, look forward to grabbing the hip show later today! many kind thanks

Just finished listening to the show. Fantastic job Colin! Sounds great; had the headphones cranked and the low bass frequency really comes through well. Thank you!

the shows sounds great, yes. but my god it is a bad show. Gord just can't / doesn't sing anymore... he gets up there and screams the lyrics and when he isn't screaming, he is just saying them. there is no tune anymore. combine that with the fact that Gord S and Paul are trying to actually sing the backing vocals and it is a mess.
