Great idea, let's hope it can be done. I would be happy to help upload or whatever else needs doing.

I love Archive.org great place to get movies also for those long car rides. You can download them for ipods too. I think its one of the best sites to find stuff and not worry about legal issues.

What's the status on this? Archive is one of the All Time Great Sites on the Intertubes. Maybe we can try to organize a large grass-roots write request type of thing from the fans to the band... I can't understand why a band Wouldn't want to be listed on The Archive... Especially if it's just AUDs available for download & soundboards remain streaming only. Free exposure is free exposure.

Maybe we provide some information for them to ponder:

Marketing Lessons (GD), Management Secrets (GD), The Economy of Ideas - John Perry Barlow (Lyricist GD)

So please let me know where/how far you've gotten with this and what methods have worked/failed or what you think might be the best course of action on this. Have they flatly refused??? Isn't it just stoopid to not be there? I mean no band has gone 'out-of-business' from Archiving. I think The Hip can attribute a lot of their popularity to bootlegs.

IIRC it's on hold because The Hip/MAv/their management had some of their own things in the works.

I received positive feedback from them when I started the push but kinda let it slide. Maybe a renewed effort will see some positive results?

Mabey the Hip can have their own archive. Make it part of the hip dot com.
I know hip tracker is great. But really if anybody wants Hip stuff they will find their way to hiptracker.
What would archive. org do for them? Allow them exposure on a wider scale? Im not really sure what is positive for them as their stuff is already out there. Would it sell more tickets to more shows?
I think they got all they need with thehip.com, hipbase.com and hiptracker. amongst other fan sites. The only thing archive.org does is make is super super easy to get the stuff without needing bit torrent.

archive.org makes it super super easy to get the stuff without needing bit torrent. And since it is an established site with a team of coders working on it, it is one more thing that The Hip team/MAv do not need to spend their resources on in development.

Good point.
