Hey, all... This is my first post, and I guess this is the place to do it! My name is Erik, and I'm from Farmington Hills, Michigan. I've been a fan of the Hip since hearing Fully Completely. I've only seen four or five shows (add another if you count Gord's solo show), but they've all been great. I think my favorite was at the Toledo Zoo in Ohio for the Phantom Power tour. I even got to meet the guys and get their autographs at the Orbit Room in Grand Rapids, Michigan! Definitely a highlight, and one of the perks of working in a record store at the time.

Anyway, great site you've got here, and I'm looking forward to talking to all of you.

Hi everyone! I am a student at Temple University and I live close to Philadelphia. I spend my free time listening to The Hip and visiting my fiancee who lives in New Hampshire (an hour north of Boston). My older brother turned me, my fiancee, my dad, my sister and her husband on to The Hip about five years ago (mom has a hearing problem but still attends their shows). I have to say it is tough being a Hip fan in the states because no one notices your Hip t-shirt or bumber sticker!

Hey guys.

New here, but not to the Hip. A friend got me into the Hip in '93-94. I saw them live for the first time at ARA in '95. I've also seen them at ARA '97, NYD 2000, the Music without Borders show, twice in the summer of '02, the first Hummingbird show, and the last bash @ Barrie. I will be seeing them live for the 9th time Sunday @ Wasaga.

I have to admit, the Hip aren't my #1 band  (but they are a close #2.) My favourite is Metallica. I've seen Metallica live 7 times (and 4 times in the last year, in Toronto, Montreal, Calgary & Winnipeg.)

Metallica and the Hip may seem like a strange pair for favourite bands since their musical styles are totally different... but they are both amazing live bands, and I think that is one of the big reasons why I like them both so much.

Scanning down, I saw that photo to the upper-left and thought... "Holy cow! I gotta say something witty and memorable, and quick!"

Then I realized that wasn't you... yeah, I'm a pig.

Hi everyone. Name is Di, living in Kingston, ON, originally from Oromocto, NB.

Must say I was not a Hip fan at all, but they are slowly growing on me. First time I saw them was back in /90 when they did a show with Blue Rodeo at Fort Henry here in Kingston. Gord freaked me out a bit with his onstage antics so I didn't stay for the whole show, but after listening to their music over the past while I'm starting to get a liking for them.

Am going to see them today at "Across the Causeway".

Hi I'm Chris Tanz ... posted as "Tanzola" in amth off and on from about mid 1997 until the end of 2002. I'm 28, about to start work as a municipal lawyer (next Monday), living in T.O. with my wife who puts up with a steady Hip rotation in the car CD player. I've seen The Hip live 13 times - the last time I saw them was at the Hummingbird Centre in Autumn 2002.

My love for the Hip has been re-fired in the hot kilm of IBE, and I am extra-specially groovin' on Josephine and Copenhagen at present (formerly on Gus and Everywhere). Glad to see that this place is up and running since amth seems to have slowed down (but I still lurk there from time to time).

"Salut" to all of you. Some may remember me from the past; hopefully we'll all get along in the future.

I'll walk into your painting until I reappear,

Hey Chris, welcome to the board! No shame in extra-special groovin' on Copenhagen, that song has everything! Enjoy your time here.
