Welcome David! Feel free to talk about the Hip, sports, and anything else you like... within reason, of course.thedaver39 wrote:Yeah, I probably should have done this first before I made some posts in the forum... but anyway... my name is David Schneider and I am a Hip fan from the home of the Buckeyes, Columbus Ohio. I've been a devout Hip fan since the TATH tour and have been surfing Hipbase and participating in the Henhouse listserv since late last year. I heard about Hipbase at the last concert I went to: the Bijou in Toledo Ohio in the fall of last year. I was standing in line to get in behind a guy wearing a Hipbase shirt. I quietly made a mental note of it and went home to check it out for myself - anyone want to lay claim to being that person? We were lined up to the left of the Bijou front entrance waiting for the doors and we were *just* at the edge of the building - if that rings a bell... anyway, my other interests are Ohio State football, Indians baseball, and really just baseball in general.

Ahoy fellow hip fans!
I dunno if I'm the youngest person here (14), but I've been listening to the Tragically Hip since I was 12, (my parents CD's) playing guitar since 13 and performing sprodicly since 8 months ago. (just the random gig here and there) Hip tunes are possibly the best things to do a cover of in a Candian coffee shop because at least one person in the buliding is required by law to know it! Though I write 95% of my own material...
I'm really interested into going to some of thier shows (my boyfriend keeps promising to take me when they come back to town.) I converted my best friend into another die-hard Tragically Hip fan last chirstmas and life has never been better!

Hey everyone! I'm Andrea...fell in love with the Hip when I was just a kid, and haven't been able to get enough since...I live near Niagara Falls and have been to 11 shows. I have 2 kids so it's not always easy for me to get out, but I do my best. My neighbours know all the tracks by heart! I own an online company and have the best boyfriend in the world (imo!). We both are killer fans, and crank it every time we're alone in the car, if ya know what I mean...the Boys keep the spark alive...lol An ex took all my vids, discs and pics, so I am currently working on replenishing the stash....
I bid on something on Ebay and got a message from someone directing me here, and wow, am I glad he did!

Welcome aboard Andrea. Is the Maid Of The Mist awesome or what? I also think Clifton Hill has the best fudge in the country. Nightmares, just off the main drag, is a pretty cool attraction too.Twinkie wrote:Hey everyone! I like Screamers at the top of the hill...but when was the last time you were there? They've changed it a LOT! Huge arcade now, with prizes like dvd players, etc...lol The Maid gets boring after a couple of times, but the first time's pretty freaky and cool...I don't go there much...I'm not a gambler and it seems like casinos are taking over the joint....Stephen Dame wrote:...Is the Maid Of The Mist awesome or what? Hi Andrea. Welcome to the Hipbase. A Hip fan, a Leaf fan, and you live in Niagara? We are going to get along just fine. I'm a diehard Hip and Leaf fan and I live in Thorold. Again, welcome to the board. This is a very lively place to be.

I don't think The Maid will ever get old for me, just love the roar and the impressive majesty of it all... plus, it's as close as I come to taking a shower.Twinkie wrote:I like Screamers at the top of the hill...but when was the last time you were there? I was last there just before the Hip's NYE show in Hamilton in '04. The new Casino is something else, perched on the hill and all... the view must be something.

Hi, I'm Brandon, from Vancouver, but i am origanally from near Montreal, hence the Canadiens fan-ness. I play guitar too, but not good enough to play in the public.
As for us habs fans being a little crazy, i can't say i disagree.
