Little late to the review party but decided to chime in. Wicked show, loved how we didn't know what to expect like in past tours. Also loved the album grouped set list. The new songs were great. What blue is my fav tune in the new album, so happy to hear it (although knew they'd play it). Oceans next surprised me. It's actually my least fav song from the new album. But live it sounded great, so much different. Not a fan of gord's vocals on the album track. In person it was lower pitched and much more powerful and raw. The IBE set was honestly a disappointment. Prob some of my least fav selections from the album. Would have liked to hear Makeshift or Vaccination Scar or Copenhagen. But the phantom power set blew me away. Membership, escape, poets, and something on? Wow! Sure didn't expect all those, most of my favs from the album (minus emperor penguin). My fav hip era is DFN-PP so extremely happy they played some from all 3. Overall great show, really wish they started doing this format earlier! And yes, quite emotional for my 12th show but review focused on the musical aspect.

On July 28th I woke up in a tent on my cousins property in Golden, I wish I could live in the mountains, destination edmonton for my last gig of the tour!

took a cruise by lake louise but theres so many ppl around and nowhere to park we keep goin, my friend from canmore takes us to alternate lakes and see pretty things, the day is getting on and still one pitstop, i quick visit to a cousin's place in cochrane alberta, he's long winded so we leave a lil' late and head north, the skies are wild that day/evening so alive, on route i get in contact with some edmonton friends about potentially meeting up, when i tell them where we are they're like there's no time! the show! k-days, city construction, he informs us old northlands coliseum is on the north side and better park somewhere and grab the train to venue.

as previously stated in other reviews im peiguy on this tour, i get on the train wearing my pei flag, there's a couple sittin accross from us and like a large % of albertans they are relocated maritimers, also headin to the gig, we exchange previous tour stories and gives us tips for getting around the city

the train seems to take forever i check my phone and realize the gig is gonna start before we get there, we follow the crowd off the train towards the venue, i can hear In a World Possessed by the Human Mind booming thru the walls! the seats are far closer to the stage, paul's side, after proving to mr.drunk guy he was in our seats i'm there, i'm there one last time, so many kms from home, i remember thinkin how glad i was the shows in the old barn and not in the new arena

ocean next was very dark and heavy in it's own way, first break comes up way too fast after missing the road apples opening set, the effects and lightning on screen i could get used to this every night, IBE set starts im singin maybe even dancing, drunk guy seems to be goin for beers a lot and being annoyin cuz im on the aisle but whatever go waste your money on $10 beers ill be here soakin it in

day for night set starts with daredevil, scared has most of the venue in tears i reckon the crowd is so loud, grace too, really hits me hard, im usually fairly calm at shows but not for this one, not for maybe one of my favs, im screaming my throat hurts thinkin about it but it was worth it, the encores start coming everything sounds so good, im floored and surprised by flamenco and never want ahead by a century to end, cuz its my last song of the tour but of course it does, we linger as the venue empties

i walk down a few rows and gently place my pei flag on the oilers bench, thinking, absorbing, it's over for me? some friendly folks walk over and comment on flag and say they are also islanders, this makes me smile,

it was a long ride back home, to a new job, a new life after lots of money spent and weeks on the road i'd do it again in a heartbeat
